Reps Urge Police to Work with Vigilante to Stamp-Out Kidnapping and Banditry
The House of Representatives has called on the Nigerian police and other security agencies to collaborate with local vigilante groups in conducting thorough operations across forests nationwide to eliminate the hideouts of bandits and armed herdsmen.nThis followed a motion moved by Hon. Bily Osawaru seeking end to armed banditry and other criminal activities of the men of the underworld.
Also, the House urged the Federal Ministry of Works, in partnership with the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) and vehicle inspection officials, to enforce stricter regulations and implement more rigorous maintenance checks for trailers and petroleum tankers to enhance road safety. This resolution was adopted following a motion of urgent public importance moved by Hon. Yinka Aluko.
