Return to Work, CSOS Urge Police Officers

A coalition of civil society organization (CSO) has called on officers of the Nigerian police force to continue to discharge their responsibilities professionally and not be discouraged by the wave of the protest which led to killings and vandalizing of police stations.

Coordinator of southwest development frontiers, Comrade Osabinu Olufemi, made the call while briefing journalist in Abuja on Tuesday.

He appealed to the officers to resume their duties in the interest of National security and not allow security in the country to deteriorate.

Olufemi lamented demoralization of the force arising from the numerous killings of many gallant policemen, burning down of police stations and police vehicles across asking the personnel to take up the challenge and not allow the situation to affect the country's security.

The coordinator said the group condemns the Amnesty international's input on the destructive reports alleging that the Nigeria police killed EndSARS peaceful protesters.

He urged the Federal Government to ensure that all panels of inquiries are given unlimited access to conduct unbiased investigation into the root causes of the protests.
