ADP adopts Akala as governorship candidate
The Action Democratic Party (ADP) in Oyo state has adopted the former Governor of Oyo State, Alao Akala as its Governorship candidate for the 2019 election.
It would be recalled that Akala, who was defeated during the Governorship primary conducted at the Lekan Salami Stadium in Ibadan by the All Progressive Congress (APC) had left the party for ADP.
Akala, after the screening was issued a certificate of return by the national leaders of the party being the only Governorship aspirant of the party.
He promised to reposition the state for rapid development if given the opportunity again to steer the ship of the state.
Akala who maintained that he is returning to a familiar terrain said he would not lose sleep as regards some of his supporters that are still in All Progressive Congress, including his son, adding that they should remain where they are.
The National Organising Secretary of the party, Dr. Lynn Olisa said the Action Democratic Party has no alliance with any political party stressing that the party would take over Oyo state.
