Gunmen Kill 19 in Benue Community, Abduct 15 Others
Suspected Fulani Gunmen have killed 19 people and abducted 15 others in different villages of Agatu local government area in Benue state.
The killing , according to a source occurred during the early hours of Saturday in Some remote areas of Agatu Local Government.
The council chairman, Stephen Dutse said the attackers invaded, Olegaje, Ogumogbo, Ejuma and Ogbagaji, headquarter of the local government killing 19 persons and abducting 15 others.
According to him, the gunmen surrounded different locations in the villages shooting sporadically, hacking and killing residents when the people were asleep.
He appealed to the security agencies in the state to deploy their personnel to the affected villages and surrounding communities in order to prevent further attacks on his people. Meanwhile Governor Gabriel Suswam has called for a stronger ties between the Military and Government following the continued attack on Benue Communities by suspected Fulani Mercenaries.
