The House of Representatives has mandated it's committee on sports to invite all stakeholders including the minster of sports, head legal department of the sports ministry and other officials of the Nigerian Football Federation to reach a conclusion on the lingering crisis and report back to the house in two weeks. The motion chaired by Prestige Ossy was raised under matters of urgent public importance.

Prestige Ossy worried that if the visit is not resolved in time, Nigeria ' chances of qualifying for the next FIFA World Cup in Russia 2018 may be jeopardized.
Contributing to the motion, other members of the house were concerned that it took the timely intervention of officers and men of the Nigeria police force to prevent a total breakdown of law and order at the headquarters of the NFF on the 12th April,2016.

Amaju Pinnick resumed office as the president of the Nigerian football federation and had been until 8th of April 2016 when a High Court sitting In Jos, Plateau state nullified his election and declared Chris Giwa the winner of the election held on 30th of September, 2015.
