Group condemns CCB/CCT amendment bill
Civil society organization has condemned the quick passage of the second reading of the bill to amend the Code of Conduct Bureau by the Senate.
The group, Civil Society Legislative Advocacy Center (CISLAC) who described the decision by the senate as a way of undermining democracy and frustrating justice, urged the lower chamber to dissociate from endorsing the Act meant to fight against corruption.
The Leaders of the group disclosed that the call is designed to save the nation from corruption as the reputation of Nigeria dwindles by the day.
They expressed dissatisfaction at the way the bill is being rushed, saying Nigerians are currently witnessing betrayal of public trust
Senate President Bukola Saraki is currently facing a trial at the code of conduct tribunal for false assets declaration, keeping secret foreign accounts among other allegations.
