Court fixes February 16 for Naira Marley's Trial
Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley's trial continued today Tuesday at the Federal High Court Ikoyi, Lagos.
Naira Marley who is facing eleven count charges bordering on conspiracy, possession of counterfeit credit cards, and fraud appeared before Justice Nicholas Oweibo.
Azeez Fashola a.k.a Naira Marley a Nigerian musician who sang the popular song: “Am I a Yahoo Boy”, appear before honourable Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court Lagos.
Fashola was consequently, arraigned on May 20, 2019, but pleaded not guilty.
The court had accordingly, granted him bail in the sum of two million Naira, with two sureties in like sum.
It should be recalled that according to the economic and financial crimes commission EFCC, the defendant committed the offence on different dates between Nov. 26, 2018, and Dec.11, 2018, as well as May 10, 2019.
The commission alleged that Fashola and his accomplices conspired to use different Access Bank ATM cards to defraud their victims. It alleged that the defendant used a bank credit card issued to another person, in a bid to obtain fraudulent financial gains.
During the court sittings today at the Federal High Court Lagos the prosecution could not go on with their evidence.
They told the honourable judge that their witness travelled out of the jurisdiction of the honourable court and upon this grounds, Justice Oweibo vacated the other dates December 13th and 14th due to commencement of the new legal year and adjourned the matter to February 16th and 17th 2022 for the continuation of the hearing
