Apapa port, others shut as maritime workers begin strike

As early as 6:00 a.m., the gates leading into Nigeria’s busiest port, Apapa and Tin-Can ports were shut and all vehicular movement restricted. At about 8:45 a.m., the seaport workers softened their stance and allowed only private vehicles into the ports, barring all container trucks from entering into the ports


President General of MWUN, Comrade Adewale Adeyanju explained that private vehicles were later allowed into the ports because of the nature of port business.
