8 Story Building Collapsed in Imo, Many Trapped
An eight-story building undergoing construction in Imo state southeast Nigeria has collapsed in the evening of Thursday the 30th of April.
The building located at Yaradua drive in Owerri the state capital is said to have collapsed as a result of structural defect and negligence on the side of the contractor.
Galaxy TV correspondent Ajibade Awofeso reports that fourteen persons out of over twenty-person trapped have been rescued and so far one death was recorded as at the time of filing this report.
A rescue mission is still ongoing at the site as the people hope to get all trapped in rumbles out alive.
