Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court Abuja has adjourned ruling on the bail application for Bristol Isaac Tamunobifiri, charged by the Inspector General of Police for alleged Criminal activities threatening National Security.

Bristol was arraigned by the Nigeria Police Force National Cybercrime Center (NPF-NCCC) was accused of leaking classified documents, sedition, fraud, and tax evasion.

Not only that, the complaint was filed by the Office of the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (OSGF), alleging that an anonymous blogger using the Twitter handle @pidomnigeria published and distributed a restricted document on a sensitive matter of national security.

At the Wednesday proceeding, Counsels to the Defendant led by Deji Adeyanju, moved the bail application for Bristol before Justice Nwite stressing that his Client had earlier been granted administrative bail before he was arraigned in court.

Adeyanju prayed the court to grant his Client bail on liberal terms pending the determination of the matter adding that, the fulcrum of the evidence before the court does not correlate with the charged.

On his part, the Prosecution Counsel, Simon Lough, moved against the bail application stressing that the applicant failed to meet up with the conditions stated on section 161, 162 of the Administration of Criminal Act.
He prayed the court to reject the bail application noting that, there was no evidence before that court to justify the claim of the administration bail made by the Defence Counsels.

In his short ruling, Justice Emeka Nwite adjourned the matter till September 17th for ruling on the application and hearing.
