Ahead of the September 21st Governorship election in Edo State, the Edo state governor Godwin Obaseki has raised the alarm over what he described as the presence of armed gang allegedly accompanied by policemen from the inspector general,s office.

Governor Obaseki made this known at the government house in Benin city the Edo State capital, when he received former Nigeria military head of state and chairman of the National Peace Committee General Abdulsalam Abubakar.

The governor expressed concern over the tension as the election approaches, as he lament over the arrest of his party members.

Responding, General Abdulsalam retired described his mission to the state as to ensure peace among the candidates through the signing of a peace accord.
