Breaking news: ULC suspends strike
Leadership of the United Labour Congress (ULC) has on Wednesday, September 20, called off the strike action embarked on by the union.
The President of ULC Comrade Joe Ajaero announced the suspension of strike after meeting with the Federal Government negotiation team led by the minister of labour and employment, Chris Ngige.
Part of the agreement at the meeting was that petroleum workers should resume work, while the two groups will also meet next week for the continuation of the conciliatory meeting.
The Minister said that the proposal for the registration of ULC was on and that there was no finality that ULC will not be registered.
The call off of the strike seems to be temporary until the ULC and the federal government finally reach an agreement next week.
