President Muhammadu Buhari has written the Nigerian Senate seeking the confirmation of the appointment of 15 nominees as Chairman and members of the National Human Rights Commission [NHRC].

Galaxy's Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that the request of the President is contained in a letter read on the floor of the Red Chamber Tuesday at plenary by Senate President Ahmad Lawan.

The nominee shortlist has Salamatu Hussaini Suleiman as Chairman, has as members, Anthony Ojukwu, Idayat Hassan, Beatrice Agba, Umar Zainab Salisu, among others.
