NIPOST: Senate Moves to Reposition Postal Service in Nigeria
In order to keep the Nigerian Postal Service in tune with modern trends, a Bill seeking to reposition it scaled second reading in the Senate Tuesday.
The Bill sponsored by Lagos Central Senator, Oluremi Tinubu, seeks to repeal the Nigerian Postal Service Act and establish the Nigeria Postal Commission to make provisions for the development and regulation of postal services.
And senators who lent their voices in support of the Bill, express confidence it will help salvage the NIPOST and to make it set for the future.
Galaxy’s Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that the Bill was referred to the Senate Committee on Communication to report back in four weeks.
