Farmers/ Herders Clash: Ibarapa Traditional Council Sues for Peace
Traditional rulers in Ibarapa land have sued for peace and unity in the axis saying the problems facing the area are numerous.
Recall that Ibarapa land has been in the news in the news for a while now following the lingering crisis between farmers and Fulani herdsmen in the area.
Correspondent Kunle Ojo reports that the Onidere of Idere, Oba Aderoju Kingsley Onikola who spoke with journalists after the meeting of traditional rulers in the axis with Governor Seyi Makinde said the problems confronting the area are multifaceted.
On the activities of a Fulani man, identified as Wakili Iskilu who has been accused of terrorising farmers in Ayete, Oba Onikola stated that Wakili is not the only problems in the area adding that all issues will be addressed on February, 15th, 2021.
The monarch who refused to speak on issues discussed during the closed-door meeting with Governor Makinde said the Governor in the company of the Commissioner of Police in Oyo state; Ngozi Onadeko will inaugurate a peace committee in Ibarapa on February 15, 2021.
A farmer, identified as Bashiru Akinlotan died under mysterious circumstances in his cocoa farm on Wednesday.
There have been conflicting reports on what led to the death of the 65-year-old farmer.
