The Federal character commission has denied allegations of lawlessness levelled against the commission.

Senior Director for Management and Staff, Dr. Vincent Onobun made the denial while addressing journalists in Abuja on Thursday. 

Onobun lamented allegations of lack of rule of law, due process, guidelines and extant circulars in the commission.

He noted that the running cost released to the commission is hardly sufficient to fund its monthly activities at the Headquarters as well as state offices not to talk of being embezzled.

He explained that the contract for 2020 was duly advertised, the bid received and analyzed contrary to the allegations of racketeering in the commission.

He said the issue of the alleged 35 million Naira contract award is part of the rolling plan that commenced by the commission and the federal government.

The commission observed that the 2020 recruitment took place without due process the reason it decided to cancel the exercise.
