Four coronavirus patients whose results just came back have absconded in Oyo State. 

The four individuals, according to findings by Our Correspondent were part of five individuals who were asked to self-isolate pending the release of their test results after they were intercepted on their way to Lagos from Kano.

However, when their test results, which came back positive, arrived yesterday, they had absconded. 

The Incident Manager for COVID-19 in Oyo state, Dr. Bode Ladipo in a telephone interview with our Correspondent confirmed the incident adding that the patients have not been moved to the infectious Disease Centre in Olodo before they took to their heels.

Dr Ladipo stated that other neighbouring States have been informed to be on the alert, promising that the four patients would soon be discovered.

He appealed to residents of the state to remain calm promising that the situation is under control.

The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control had announced another five fresh cases of COVID-19 in the state in the new figures released yesterday.
