The House of Representatives has confirmed that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, duly consulted the National Assembly before making his recent decision.

In a statement released in Abuja, the House Spokesman Hon Akin Rotimi, clarified that the leadership of the National Assembly met with President Tinubu, the National Security Adviser, and key security chiefs ahead of the President’s broadcast.

He explained that during the meeting, all attendees were fully briefed on the President’s intentions and unanimously expressed their support.

He said, President Tinubu has formally communicated his decision to the House of Representatives, seeking approval in accordance with Section 305 of the Constitution.

According to him, the President’s letter has been transmitted and is scheduled to be read during plenary on Wednesday, March 19, 2025.

The House is expected to deliberate on the matter and take necessary legislative actions.
