Governor of Bayelsa state Douye Diri has taken a swipe at the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress in the November 11 2023 governorship election Timipre Sylva, over the killing of soldiers in the Delta community of Okuama.

The governor in a statement by his Chief Press Secretary Daniel Alabrah, said Sylva,s introduction of politics into the gruesome murder of the soldiers smacks insensitivity at a time true patriots were mourning the unfortunate incident.

According to the Bayelsa governor CPS, Sylva,s statement circulating on social media compared the last Bayelsa election to the killing of soldiers in Delta.

The Bayelsa governor wondered why the former minister of state for Petroleum resources chose to dance on the graves of the slain soldiers in his false allusion to the use of non-state actor's in the state governor sh polls.

He attributed the former.minister statement to the proverbial pot calling the kettle black when his antecedents as a politician was like an open book known to all.

The governor stressed that the military authorities Should be allowed to conduct a thorough investigation into the dastardly act in Okuama, as efforts are on to unravel the perpetrators.
