Sowore Granted Bail with 'Stringent Conditions
An Abuja Chief Magistrate Court Monday granted online publisher, Omoyele Sowore bail in the sum of 20million Naira.
This is coming finally after hearing on the bail application was stalled on Friday on account of the failure of the police to transport him to court.
Galaxy's Godfrey Eshiemoghie reports that coupled with the bail bonds are two sureties resident in Abuja, one of whom must be a civil servant of grade level 12.
The four other defendants arrested alongside Sowore in Abuja on New Year's eve for constituting public disturbance among others were granted bail in the sum of one million Naira and a surety each.
Despite the decision of the Court, Omoyele Sowore and his lawyer concede that there may still be a long way to go for the defendants to regain their freedom, citing what they term stringent bail conditions.
