APC sets to reconcile aggrieved members in Oyo
Concerned leaders of the All Progressive Congress in Oyo state have commenced the rebuilding of the party with the aim to reposition it ahead of 2023 general elections.
Rising from a meeting in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, some leaders and members of the party from the grassroots admitted that the last administration of Abiola Ajimobi polarized the party for selfish ambitions.
These are the foot soldiers of the defeated All Progressive Congress in Oyo state in the last general election and having realized their mistakes, they decided to pick up the pieces and rebuild the party ahead of the next general elections.
Some of the leaders who spoke at a reconciliation meeting in Ibadan admitted that the last administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi polarized the party for selfish gain, adding that the present state of the party in Oyo state required that all hands must be on the deck.
Other speakers accused the party leaders of relegating the foot soldiers to the background while those whom they described as strangers were given the opportunity to enjoy the labour of others.
They appealed to residents of the state to renew their faith in the All Progressive Congress adding that now that the visitors had left, there is a need to reform the party and reposition it for better performance.
The leaders called for unity of purpose among members while they stressed the need for regular meetings at all levels.
At the end of their deliberation, the leaders agreed to work as a team as well as become a credible opposition to the ruling People's Democratic Party in Oyo state with the aim of creating a state devoid of under development.
