PDP Candidate Kicks as Gov Uzodimma Celebrates APC's Victory
The Imo state governor senator Hope Uzodimma has congratulated his party the all progressives’ congress on her victory in the just concluded Imo North senatorial bye-election.
The election which took place in the six local government areas of the district, though recorded some level of voter apathy, but APC was able to poll 36,811 votes to win PDP who poll 31,903 votes.
Addressing newsmen at the government house in Owerri over the victory, Governor Uzodimma said the party regardless of the controversy surrounding its candidate nomination recognizes Hon. Frank Ibezim as the sole candidate in the IMO North bye-election.
One of the top contending aspirants in the race Hon Frank Ibezim also maintained that Senator Araraume whose candidacy has been vacated by the appeal court should respect the decision of the party in the best interest of all.
Though the ruling party is in a celebration mood over her victory, the Peoples' Democratic Party who came second in the exercise has express dissatisfaction over the rationale that brought about the celebrated victory.
Earlier in an interview with newsmen the PDP candidate Hon. Emmanuel Okehulonu presented some strong arguments which he said he might be approaching the court to seek redress.
