Niger Delta youths partner with Police
Youth leaders from the Nine Niger Delta states have converged in Warri to foster a good working relationship with the Nigerian police, in ensuring that youths shun violence and embrace peace in the region.
The youths under the umbrella body of the Niger Delta Youths Peace Dialogue, is geared towards dialogue and creating an enabling environment.
Speaking at the parley with the police, the chairman and convener of the group spoke on the need to partner with the police in ensuring lasting peace.
On his part, the Delta police commissioner who was represented by the spokesperson Mr. Andrew Aniamaka urged Niger Delta youths to embrace dialogue.
Meanwhile, the youths also call on ex-militants and stakeholders to be present in Warri on the 31st as the Acting president and the Inspector General of police will meet with the group to dialogue for peace.
